The 2015 Day for St George day of dance will be on Saturday 25th April.
So far we have four visiting teams – Saddleworth Morris, Britannia Coconutters, Wrigley Head Morris and Rivington Morris – who will be parading around the town with us.
We will start our grand procession from The Crown at around 10:00, and will be making our way to Bank Top Ale House on Church Street, then back to The Crown via The Bridge, Brownlow Road, V&A, Bowling Green, Original Bay Horse, and Black Edge Brewery. The aim is to get back to The Crown at around 14:30.
Look out for the posters around the town, keep an eye on our Facebook page, and our Twitter feed @horwichmorris
The sunny weather has been booked, the teams have been booked. We’d love to see you there.
After the success of our first visit to Sandbach Day of Dance, in 2013, we are thrilled to have been invited back again this year.
Saturday 13th September 2014, in Sandbach town centre, starting at 10:30 at the market square. Hope to see you there.
This year we have five visiting morris teams joining us dancing around the town:
Brittania Coco utters
Rose and Castle
Basic plan is to set off in procession from The Crown at 10:00, up to Bank Top Ale House on Church Street, down to The Bridge, stopping on Brownlow Road next to The Saddle. After lunch we move on to The Victoria and Albert, The Bowling Green, Original Bay Horse, then finally back at The Crown some time around 14:30.
Plenty of opportunity to see all the teams dance!
Hope to see you all then.
This year’s Day for St George day of dance is on Saturday 26th April.
With guest teams joining us, we’ll be dancing around Horwich centre, starting at The Crown at around 10:00, and ending back there at around 14:00.
We’ve ordered the sunny Spring weather, so all we need is you to come watch and say “Hello”.
Hope to see you all then.
Horwich Morris Men are on the road again this Saturday, 14th September. We’ll be performing at the Sandbach Day of Dance, in and around the Market Square. Dancing starts at 10:30, and finishes at around 15:00.
This event is in its 3rd year, and is already proving popular with dancers and spectators.
Also performing will be teams demonstrating Border style, Cotswold and Sword dancing.
Look forward to seeing you there.
We are out on the road tonight! The New Oxford, Bexley Square, Salford. It’s just off the A6, not far from Salford Crescent and Salford Central stations. See http://thenewoxford.com/ for more details of the venue.
We are joined by Manchester Morris Men, and should be dancing at around 8pm.
Hope to see you there.
This year’s carnival is on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th June, with the carnival parade on the Sunday from 12:00.
Horwich Prize Medal Morris Men will be taking part and performing throughout the route of the parade, so do look out for us.
This year, the carnival parade is back to sharing the roads of Horwich with the “Horwich Races”, a series of running and cycle races.
